Love and Rainy Days

I am usually not the kind to speak out about my life, but this rainy Wisconsin day has set a fire inside, that I can't contain.

Last weekends rain called my clients and I to cancel sessions, so I have been sitting inside my duplex, working on the blog, editing from past sessions but most of all looking out the window and feeling warm from all of the love in my life.

Although my family (as in my spouse and children) is No Where near perfection, they are mine! My husband and I met our sophomore year of high school and had our first date at the town theater, the movie was Sleepy Hallow, (it's perfect scary Halloween Movie if you haven't seen it by the way) and fell into teenage bliss. We dated most of high school, but eventually went our separate ways. We both grew in life and wisdom and here we are today. 7 yrs married, 2 beautiful little girls and a fresh move to new lives together.

Photo taken by me in May shortly before we moved

We love our Wisconsin life more than ever, we have made a move, we have sacrificed so much and now all we have is each other. And even though, as I said we still aren't perfect we are right there, everyday playing witness to each others lives! All because one 15 year old boy and one 15 year old girl fell in love.

I am not sure what it is about a rainy day that can make these feelings stir stronger inside, all I know is I am glad for it..

Hope you all can feel it too!

Caleb- Class of 2013

Here are a few more images from Caleb's senior session

Please tell me which one(s) you like most :)

Graffiti

This was one of those "moment inspired" shots, when he was walking to his setup he looked too much like James Dean, so I turned it into a new age rendition of a timeless classic photo.

the way the light captured his face here added so much drama

Giving the camera an awesome show because he knows his high school days are few!

About mememe :)

Today begins the day of THE BLOG, well for me anyway! I know it has been a long time coming considering the fact that I do enjoy writing, and even made English my college major. If you are reading this I am sure you are tilting your head in confusion at my reasons for not yet following the 'photographers blogging protocol'.

My reasons are few.. My life is hectic, and even though I love to write I rarely have the time so I have many unfinished short stories and poems.

Enough about that, let's start off with a little bit of back story. Hhhmmmm, where to begin..
Let's see, since it's common for most teenage girls to take a million pictures of themselves or their friends I can't really add that to my back story except to say maybe my love was a little more than most. You see, I not only took thousands pictures but I turned them into poster sized collages that would hang on my wall, more like art I suppose. I held my first dslr in high school in my media class..This wasn't a required class and for a while I was the only one in it but I loved the freedom..The days I spent roaming the halls of the high school camera in hand, even if it was to only report on the 6th grade honor role, I was important.

Life moved on and with that came new goals along with some different dreams. Traveling soon became one of those dreams. If your wondering where I would like to travel, the place at the top of my list would be Europe, I would love to travel the country for a whole year.. Some day! Years later I came upon a small time job as a photographer (which I absolutely adored). Finally I was able to make the purchase with help from my late father, he worked as a computer tech but shared a hobbyist's attitude when it came to photography, being a man who traveled he always purchased the newest digital cameras with the most mega pixels, I can remember him being excited at 12 mega pixels..I often wonder what he would think of mine.

So here is a little piece of why I am here, the rest is simple..I am here because of the love and support from my family (my husband, my girls, and my Mom) and the great friends that let me use them for models while portfolio building. Above all else I am doing what I am doing because God has made it possible, anytime I have a sudden doubt he reassures me, it is unimaginable the many ways he continues to show me this is my path in life, and I am very thankful!

Keep up with my random blog postings about sessions, events I am hosting, and most of all my life!

Until next time
-Stacey
