This year has been so special to me because of starting this photography career on my own, and then moving with my family to Wisconsin. I have learned so much and I have been so blessed by God.
The lowlights of this year have taught me some very valuable lessons in life, friendships and most of all business. I always feel that you can look from the outside of any given situation and say "well if I were this person I would do this", but until you actually pour all of your time, money and energy into that same thing you wont realize that nothing could have prepared you. Learning who to trust and who not to trust, and seeing what is good for myself, my career and my family's well being is going to be a key focus of mine in 2013. I am taking all of the very valuable lessons, mistakes and great things that happened to me in this year.. I will keep them fresh in my head and heart so that I will never make the same mistakes again.
I had so many great experiences, so many people that I have formed bonds with and people I haven't talked to in a long time and now I feel like I can say I somewhat know them again.. This is the great part of being a photographer! Being around people and getting a glimpse into their soul, when you photograph a persons true personality you get this true raw emotion that is a feeling unlike anything else.All the highlights I have had greatly outweigh any small dent I have had this year though!! I tell you I am such a happy lady and especially lately I am just beaming with excitement over the great things to come! A couple weeks ago My Husband gave me a wonderful surprise!! He has told me many times this year how he looks at my photos and is just amazed by my talent. He is always telling me I need to be more confident in what I do and telling me to stop selling my self so short! He gives me that boost I need to strive forward. Since we have moved to Wisconsin we don't know a lot of people so he has been doing his own work to help me get my name out there. Back to the surprise, after seeing what I could do with such a limited set up indoors Aaron and I placed a small order online for a few items to help me set up indoors.. Since the order was going to take a long time to process and actually still hasn't made it here yet, I was worried.. He came home for lunch on a Friday and said lets go to Menard's.. I had no idea what was ahead of me. When we got there he was looking at different guy things that still I had no idea until we went to the flooring department. He let me pick my own hardwood floor for an indoor studio!! Not only did he take me there and buy this for me, but as soon as he got home from work he built it for me! He set up my entire indoor set up! How sweet is that?! He believes in my ability and it is the absolute best feeling in the entire world and honestly I wouldn't care what anyone else said..
